My review of The Last Breath Of Reggie Warrington:

I love this story so far. There are so many twists and turns in The Last Breath Of Reggie Warrington. The cliffhangers at the end of the chapters made me automatically want to read more. The story was very well-written and I very much enjoyed the suspense in J.A. Brown’s writing.

The characters themselves, although not all likeable, were relatable and I felt empathy for them. I loved the way the characters interacted with each other and their various relationships.

Overall I loved The Last Breath Of Reggie Warrington and the characters, though Chloe and Lilly (Chloe’s younger sister), do have a special place in my heart ❤️ .

Review #12: Wattpad Book: Broken Ever After by Adriana Galea

Title: Broken Ever After

By: Adriana Galea (Wattpad: AdrianaGalea)

Genre: Fantasy

Summary: Quinn Hartley’s life is a fairy tale. She could want for nothing more in life. Or so she thought…until she discovers her friend’s illness and nothing mattered anymore. The happily ever after she had hoped for now shattered and broken.

After a wondrous encounter with a fairy tale character, Quinn embarks on an enchanted journey to save her currently broken ever after. To what length is she willing to go to save her friend’s life? Will the journey be able to change her mind about happily ever afters?

Rating: 💚💚💚💚 (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Broken Ever After:

I loved this story. Quinn is a strong and likeable character, whose values are friendship and loyalty. Ames is hard working and caring character who looks after his two younger siblings. These two are very sweet together and care about each other immensely so when Ames is sick Quinn’s journey to save his life begins; it is both life-threatening and enchanting.

The unique retelling of the different fairytales, including Rumpelstiltskin, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty, among others, is incredible. It reminds me slightly of the books; The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer (amazing series).

While Quinn is in The Enchanted Kingdom she meets and falls head over heels for a certain Jacob Grimm… (I love him too 😍 )

This story is so creatively thought out and the epilogue was just beautiful. It touched me so much.

Adriana wrote Broken Ever Afters in such a delicate way and many readers will devour just as I did.

Review #11: Traditionally Published Book (August 2018): Noisesome Ghosts by Clay Thistleton

Title: Noisesome Ghosts

By: Clay Thistleton

Genre: Poetry / Paranormal

Summary: “Noisesome Ghosts is a collection of mainly found poems that investigates the phenomenon of ghosts and poltergeists that can speak and write, crossing the entire documented history of these mysterious entities from the second millennium BCE ghost of the Biblical prophet Samuel to the current case of the so-called demons in Seattle.”

Rating: 💚💚💚.5  (3.5) (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Noisesome Ghosts:

This poetry collection is one of a kind. I’ve never read anything quite like it!

These poems are recreated by Clay in such a unique way and the formatting, while sometimes a tad confusing, really express the living human beings as well as the dead souls’ thoughts and fears.

An example of this is:

“Are you buried in the garden?                     No

Can you tell us where?                       In the well

Do you mean under the fir tree?    In the cellar ”

This passage strikes me especially because of the communication between life and death and the ways ghosts want to go back to the land of the living.

Overall, I think that this poetry collection is fascinating and very well-written.

Review #10: Wattpad Book: Cinderelliot by archertypes

Title: Cinderelliot

By: archertypes (Or Fury Evans)

Genre: Teen Fiction / LGBTQ+ / Poetry/Short Story

Summary: ❝He was my Prince Charming; I wasn’t his Cinderella.❞ Based on true events…

In this short story narrated from the perspective of an unsung version of Cinderella, Elliot Banks tells what it truly feels when you have an unrequited same-gender love with your straight close friend.

Rating: 💚💚💚💚💚 (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Cinderelliot:

I absolutely loved this story. It’s so well-written and I could feel Elliot’s pain. I have liked boys who already had girlfriends and I’ve also liked straight girls before, so I know how that feels…

It’s a stunning story of love, betrayal, and a twist of the classic Cinderella fairytale. Each chapter is written in a poetic form that flows beautifully and tells the uniquely sad story of unrequited love.

I also believe that the way the main character, Elliot describes the boy’s girlfriend is how many of us secretly (or otherwise 🤣) think about their loved ones other half and wish to win their affection.

Overall, the story pulls on people heartstrings and I very much enjoyed reading it. I liked putting myself in all the character’s shoes. I highly recommend Cinderelliot and hope you love it as much as I do.

Insights: My Book; When Daisies and Thunderstorms Collide

I haven’t explained very much about the first poetry collection I’d ever self-published and it’s very special to me.

❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

When Daisies and Thunderstorms Collide is about a young lady  (the Daisy) who falls for a young man (the Thunderstorm). It’s told in the perspective of a daisy who describes a thunderstorm as the gentle, pattering rain, the rolling thunder, the rainbow on dark days, etc. She also finds herself to be uninteresting and paints him as the beautiful one.

Somewhere in the middle of the book she shows her disappointment that the young man is not reciprocating her affections or making any effort at all. The daisy also finds herself becoming slightly bitter saying that he only talks to her when she speaks to him.

Towards the end she realises that actually she can do better than him and gradually starts to distance herself from the thunderstorm.

By the time the poetry book ends, she discovers that, not only can she be as delicate as a daisy, she can also be a raging thunderstorm in her own right.

Review #9: Wattpad Book: This Boy Named Kyle by XCrocusX

Title: This Boy Named Kyle

By: XCrocusX

Genre: Teen Fiction

Summary: In which a little girl writes letters to a little boy.

(From The Author: Mind you, these letters are in a kid’s POV, so the prose isn’t going to be as strong as my other stories.)

Rating: 💚💚💚💚💚 (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of This Boy Named Kyle:

This short story about a title girl, Amy, who writes letters to Kyle, who we later find out, is dead. This story is about the journey Amy goes through to realise what ‘being dead’ and ‘heaven’ really means.

Amy is so innocent that she doesn’t even understand why Kyle wouldn’t answer her letters:

“…You’re making me sad. Please answer,

Your best friend,

Amy.”

It’s very heartwarming and in each letter you can see her starting to grasp it more and more. It’s a beautiful and innocent story.

Please do read it 💚

Review #8: Wattpad Book: The Girl In Blue by WriterBug44

Title: The Girl In Blue

By: WriterBug44

Genre: Teen Fiction

Summary: Lana and Sutton thought that they were going to take college by storm. Being on their own isn’t easy but they have each other and when they have each other, they can do anything. Best friends, family, sisters, twins. They are with each other through thick and thin. It’s their second year and they’re ready for it to be the best year yet with new friends, new romances, and new memories. Little did they know what kind of storm was coming their way…

Rating: 💚💚💚💚💚 (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of The Girl In Blue:

This story just blew me away. It got me hooked from the very first sentence, and few books I’ve read ever do that.

I’ve read this book about three times now and each time I do I get more out of the story and the beautiful twins, Sutton and Lana, who each have their own unique personalities and views about the world.

All the characters have both realistic flaws and strengths which I really admire, but I have a soft spot for Sutton. She’s amazing.

Overall, I think it’s very well-written and suspenseful. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who adores teen fiction, suspense and romance.

Review #7: Wattpad Book: Hot Line by iwearheelys

Title: Hot Line

By: iwearhelys

Genre(s): Short Story / Romance / Humour

Summary: In which a guy calls a sex hotline just looking for a friend.

Rating: 💚💚💚💚(See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Hot Line:

At the beginning of the story Evan’s ex girlfriend cheats on him and when he calls the hotline both Evan and Tee find solace in each other.I loved this story; it was serious at times, but then had lots of laugh-out-loud moments as well, which I enjoyed too.

This short story is told through phone calls and text messages, which is unique in itself and the love between the two characters is just beautiful and I loved all their conversations. Evan and Tee (Teegan) are beautiful people inside and out.

I recommend this story to everyone. 💚

Review #6: Wattpad Book: Wild Girl by Alexlightstories

Title: Wild Girl

By: Alexlightstories

Genre(s): Short Story / Teen Fiction / Romance

Summary: After the tragic death of her boyfriend, Rose flees to a cabin in the wild to mend her broken heart. It’s there she meets Sebastian, her new neighbour with eyes like a black hole, and vast enough to hold thousands of secrets. She spends their short time together trying to unravel him, and healing her heart in the process.

Rating: 💚💚💚💚💚(See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Wild Girl:

I absolutely adore this story; It’s heartwarming and beautifully written. The way it tackles the grief of both Sebastian and Rose losing a significant other and finding each other is sensitive and beautiful. The characters themselves are lovely.

The characters, Rose and Sebastian, each have their own secrets and problems, which allow them to relate to each other in a way that other people, in real life or otherwise, can’t.

Another thing I love about this story is that, although the characters are going through difficult periods of  their lives they still go on and try to laugh or make a few jokes, just like real people, which is one of the reasons why they’re so relatable.

I highly, highly recommend this story to anyone and everyone. 💚

Review #5: Self-published eBook: (You Make Me) Spill My Ink by Mona Soorma

Title: (You Make Me) Spill My Ink

By: Mona Soorma AKA Manic Sylph

Genre(s): Poetry / Dairy / Journal

Summary: The dance of the Poet and the Muse is rather fascinating, a gorgeous and mystical precursor to the creative effort. This book , the diary of a poet by Mona Soorma a.k.a. Manic Sylph, takes you on a journey to the beautiful inner world of imagination and creation.

Rating: 💚💚💚💚 (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of (You Make Me) Spill My Ink:

Mona Soorma’s way of formatting these poems into dairy entries, that allow her to talk to her muse, is wonderful. She gives you a feeling of peace when reading her poetry and since it’s set in the months of the year you really get a feeling of the seasons rolling into another and when her muse strikes the most.

I’ve never read about someone personifying their muse in such a unique way as Mona has done:

“It’s my pen, but I write in your ink…”

“I flow out of you and you flow into me in scrawls of flowing ink…”

These examples are just the beginning of her well-written poems. This book really is a poetry collection as all the poems just work so well together. Also the word choice (“…pull me into your luminous oceans of creativity?”) gives the book a sense of magic. ❤️

Overall, I believe that the writing is beautiful and dreamy.

I highly recommend this poetry collection. 💚

Review #4: Wattpad Book: WILL-O’-THE-WISP (#FreeMentalIllness) by FallenAngels_00

Title: WILL-O’-THE-WISP

By: FallenAngels_00

Genre: Poetry

Summary: Here’s To Those Whose Demons Crawl Inside Their Head Fighting To Be Let Out… Here’s To Those Whose Minds Have Been Left Torn And Tattered After The War Against Themselves… Here’s To Those Whose Minds Are Dark Labyrinths Of Thoughts Fuelled By Their Lost Dreams And Broken Memories.

Rating: 💚💚💚💚 (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of WILL-O’-THE-WISP:

These poems are just lovely; they’re very touching and bring awareness to those who can’t imagine feeling so sad.

To those who know how it feels the 100 poems in this collection are so relatable and the words chosen were well thought out and well-structured. The imagery being used is such that I feel the writer’s emotions, which certainly takes a lot of talent.

The way FallenAngels_00 formats the poems is quite unique, especially the way she starts every word with a capital letter. I like this because the poems are a cry for help and if all the letters are capitalised then it would be too much, but this, in my opinion, is perfect.

Overall, I believe that these poems will definitely help those who feel helpless and help more people to understand the feelings of the depressed humans in the word.
