Review #7: Wattpad Book: Hot Line by iwearheelys

Title:ย Hot Line

By: iwearhelys

Genre(s):ย Short Story / Romance / Humour

Summary: In which a guy calls a sex hotline just looking for a friend.

Rating: ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š(See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Hot Line:

At the beginning of the story Evan’s ex girlfriend cheats on him and when he calls the hotline both Evan and Tee find solace in each other.I loved this story; it was serious at times, but then had lots of laugh-out-loud moments as well, which I enjoyed too.

This short story is told through phone calls and text messages, which is unique in itself and the love between the two characters is just beautiful and I loved all their conversations.ย Evan and Tee (Teegan) are beautiful people inside and out.

I recommend this story to everyone. ๐Ÿ’š

Lainey & Taylor – Poem #1

Lainey’s soft mint green

eyes gazed at Taylor.

She just simply couldn’t take her eyes

off the pastel purple-haired girl with

the beautiful deep blue eyes and she

thought about how Taylor’s giggles

highlighted the freckles on her cute nose.

Unknown to Lainey

Taylor thought about her too;

Her stunning green eyes;

Her light golden brown hair and

how Lainey’s laugh brightened

her universe.

Review #6: Wattpad Book: Wild Girl by Alexlightstories

Title: Wild Girl

By: Alexlightstories

Genre(s):ย Short Story / Teen Fiction / Romance

Summary:ย After the tragic death of her boyfriend, Rose flees to a cabin in the wild to mend her broken heart. It’s there she meets Sebastian, her new neighbour with eyes like a black hole, and vast enough to hold thousands of secrets. She spends their short time together trying to unravel him, and healing her heart in the process.

Rating: ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š(See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Wild Girl:

I absolutely adore this story; It’s heartwarming and beautifully written. The wayย it tackles the grief of both Sebastian and Rose losing a significant other and finding each other is sensitive and beautiful. The characters themselves are lovely.

The characters, Rose and Sebastian, each have their own secrets and problems, which allow them to relate to each other in a way that other people, in real life or otherwise, can’t.

Another thing I love about this story is that, although the characters are going through difficult periods of ย their lives they still go on and try to laugh or make a few jokes, just like real people, which is one of the reasons why they’re so relatable.

I highly, highly recommend this story to anyone and everyone. ๐Ÿ’š

Review #5: Self-published eBook: (You Make Me) Spill My Ink by Mona Soorma

Title:ย (You Make Me) Spill My Ink

By:ย Mona Soorma AKA Manic Sylph

Genre(s): Poetry / Dairy / Journal

Summary:ย The dance of the Poet and the Muse is rather fascinating, a gorgeous and mystical precursor to the creative effort.ย This book , the diary of a poet by Mona Soorma a.k.a. Manic Sylph, takes you on a journey to the beautiful inner world of imagination and creation.

Rating:ย ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’šย (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of (You Make Me) Spill My Ink:

Mona Soorma’s way of formatting these poems into dairy entries, that allow her to talk to her muse, is wonderful. She gives you a feeling of peace when reading her poetry and since it’s set in the months of the year you really get a feeling of the seasons rolling into another and when her muse strikes the most.

I’ve never read about someone personifying their muse in such a unique way as Mona has done:

“It’s my pen, but I write in your ink…”

“I flow out of you and you flow into me in scrawls of flowing ink…”

These examples are just the beginning of her well-written poems. This book really is a poetry collection as all the poems just work so well together. Also the word choice (“…pull me into your luminous oceans of creativity?”) gives the book a sense of magic. โค๏ธ

Overall, I believe that the writing is beautiful and dreamy.

I highly recommend this poetryย collection. ๐Ÿ’š

Review #4: Wattpad Book: WILL-O’-THE-WISP (#FreeMentalIllness) by FallenAngels_00

By: FallenAngels_00

Genre: Poetry

Summary:ย Here’s To Those Whose Demons Crawl Inside Their Head Fighting To Be Let Out… Here’s To Those Whose Minds Have Been Left Torn And Tattered After The War Against Themselves… Here’s To Those Whose Minds Are Dark Labyrinths Of Thoughts Fuelled By Their Lost Dreams And Broken Memories.

Rating:ย ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’šย (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of WILL-O’-THE-WISP:

These poems are just lovely; they’re very touching and bring awareness to those who can’t imagine feeling so sad.

To those who know how it feels the 100 poems in this collection are so relatable and the words chosen were well thought out and well-structured.ย The imagery being used is such that I feel the writer’s emotions, which certainly takes a lot of talent.

The way FallenAngels_00 formats the poems is quite unique, especially the way she starts every word with a capital letter. I like this because the poems are a cry for help and if all the letters are capitalised then it would be too much, but this, in my opinion, is perfect.

Overall, I believe that these poems will definitely help those who feel helpless and help more people to understand the feelings of the depressed humans in the word.

Review #3: Wattpad Book: Men Don’t Cry by Insmniac (George)

Title: Men Don’t Cry (Poetry)

By: George or @Insmniac on Wattpad

Genre: Poetry

Summary:ย “we wear our emotions like intricately decorated chains strung around our throats and then tuck them into our shirts”.

Rating: ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’šย (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review ofย Men Don’t Cry:

This collection of vulnerable poetry, showing that, in fact males can cry and should be allowed to have emotions, is beautiful.

The word choice is golden and the way the poetry is formatted is unique.ย The poems go really well together as a collection and all connect to each other.

The book is split up into different sections and the poems ย focus on different aspects of love, such as family love, friendships, relationships, etc. that pull at your heartstrings, which makes this book so relatable.

Overall, I think that this poetry book is amazingly well-written and heartwarming.

I highly recommend this book to anyone with feelings ๐Ÿ˜Š

Review #2: Self-published Book: See Her by Jane Conquest

Title: See Her

By: Jane Conquest

Genre: Novel/Novella, Romance, Teen Fiction,

Rating: ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’šย (See ‘Review Ratings’ post for details)

Summary:ย In which a boy (Aaron) meets the purple-haired girl (Taylor) of his dreams, but soon finds their love to be anything but dreamy.

My Review of See Her:

I first read this book on Wattpad and it was so good that I bought it as soon as I found out that Jane had self-published it.

I absolutely love this story. It’s so heartwarming.

This story tests the characters loyalty to each other; as Aaron (male lead character) finds out Taylor’s secrets.

Then Clara (Taylor’s sister) comes into the picture; a complex, caring girl who’s in her elder sister’s shadow.

Taylor is a layered character with real human flaws and strengths. Even though she makes mistakes, Jane still manages to make her lovable.

Overall, I read this book, first on Wattpad where it had an amazing 159,000 views, about five times and every time I’m surprised about how great it is ๐Ÿ˜Šโ˜บ๏ธ

I highly recommend See Her by Jane Conquest.

Review #1: Wattpad Book: Peter by Lightning_Stryker (Jay)

Title: Peter (#1 of The Lost Boy Series)

By: Jay or Lightning_Stryker on Wattpad

Genre: Short Story

Summary: In which a boy named Peter helps a girl (Laney) to love herself.

Rating: ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’šย (See my Reviews Ratings post for more details)

My review of Peter:

This short story has such an interesting twist of the traditional tale of Peter Pan and the message of kindness, loyalty and love.

The story pulls on people’s heartstrings and makes one love the characters.

Plus, who doesn’t want an attractive immortal saving them from their emotional high school years?

I personally love Laney, the female lead character; she isn’t just a lonely teenager. She’s funny, sarcastic, and her flaws are just some of the many things that make her uniquely human and relatable.

Overall, I love all the characters, but Laney and Finn, Peter’s brother, have a special place in my heart though. โค๏ธ

Highly recommended!ย
